SSL Certificate Checker

Verify your SSL/TLS certificate validity, check expiration dates, inspect the certificate chain, and ensure your site's secure connection is properly configured.

Why SSL Certificates Matter

SSL/TLS certificates encrypt data transmitted between users and your website, protecting sensitive information from interception. They also verify your site's identity, building trust with visitors and search engines.

Certificate Validity

An expired certificate will cause browsers to display security warnings, potentially driving away visitors. Monitor expiration dates and renew certificates before they expire.

Certificate Chain

A complete certificate chain from your certificate to a trusted root CA is essential. Missing intermediate certificates can cause connection failures in some browsers.

TLS Protocol Version

Modern browsers require TLS 1.2 or higher. TLS 1.3 offers improved security and performance. Older protocols like TLS 1.0/1.1 are deprecated and should be disabled.

Subject Alternative Names (SANs)

SANs allow a single certificate to cover multiple domains and subdomains. Ensure all your domain variations are included in your certificate.

Certificate Authority

Certificates from trusted CAs are automatically recognized by browsers. Self-signed certificates will trigger security warnings and should only be used for development.

Grade Breakdown:

  • A (80-94) - Good security
  • B (65-79) - Acceptable, minor issues
  • C (50-64) - Needs improvement
  • D (35-49) - Significant issues
  • F (0-34) - Critical problems
