How to Use This Directory
Backlinks and citations remain a key signal for both classic search engines and modern AI-powered search. The right listings strengthen your entity in Google's knowledge graph, drive direct referrals, and improve trust with potential customers. But not every listing is worth your time. Quality and fit beat quantity every time.
1. Start with core entity profiles
These establish your brand across search, maps, social, and entity graphs. They are the baseline regardless of business type. Local businesses especially need Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
2. Match listings to your model
Use the business type filter. SaaS products benefit most from launch platforms (Product Hunt, AlternativeTo, SaaSHub) and review sites (G2, Capterra). Local businesses need regional and industry directories. Agencies should prioritize Clutch, GoodFirms, and DesignRush. Pick what fits.
3. Use real pages only
Each profile should point to a real, indexed page on your site, not an empty landing or doorway page. Track whether the listing actually drives referrals using UTM parameters where the platform allows them.
4. Fit beats DR
A relevant listing on the right site beats a random high-authority profile that doesn't fit your audience. Resist the temptation to chase domain rating numbers through irrelevant directories. Search engines (and people) can tell the difference.
5. Track your progress
Use the "mark as done" toggle to keep track of platforms you have already claimed. Progress is saved locally in your browser, so you can return to this page later and pick up where you left off.
